Principal’s Message

I am grateful for the opportunity to welcome students and families back to Oxford-on-Rideau Public School.

This year, our staff is committed to reconnecting with students and making sure everyone feels welcome and safe and ready to engage in learning.

I am very proud of the way our Oxford staff and students adapted to the challenges of remote learning last year. This year, while still being vigilant and careful, we are able to welcome our students back to the school building and learn together again.

Our students learned a lot about patience and resilience last year.  We will capitalize on these skills this year, as we assess where students are at with their learning and create achievable learning goals.

Our school benefits from unwavering support from our Parent Council and families.  They hold the history of the school’s traditions, and contribute to maintaining special projects such as our Hardcover Book Project and Author’s Day. They also offer practical assistance, such as helping us to replenish our outdoor toys so we have enough for our cohorted groups at recess.

With the school open, hope is in the air at Oxford-on-Rideau, with staff and students appreciating the opportunity to learn together again.
